A warm welcome...

If anyone knows how good it feels to get away from it all, we do! We swapped the city life for the North York Moors in 2019 to pursue sustainable farming and artisan cheese-making.

Jonty 

A Chartered Accountant and Risk Professional turned dedicated cheese developer, taster, and quality controller. He leads the cheese-making courses and focuses on traditional methods and innovation.

Suzie

A Chartered Surveyor turned goat farmer, holiday cottage manager, and award-winning cheese maker. She manages the herd (the Smock Alley Goats) and handles the day-to-day operations of the farm and stays.

The Goats

A herd of Royal Golden Guernsey and British Guernsey goats. We are a ‘kid-at-foot’ herd, so the mums nurture their kids naturally and are only milked once a day. We also run a small Boer meat herd with high welfare standards.
